Job Description
In this role, you will be protecting sensitive patient information, medical systems, and infrastructure. This position requires a deep background in identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities, implementing effective security protocols, and ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents while maintaining a secure IT environment that upholds the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of healthcare systems.
Title: Security Engineer
Location: 100% Remote (CST hours, strong preference for candidate to be in MST, CST, or EST)
Permanent or Contract: 6 months contract-to-hire
Must-Haves:
- A minimum three years of professional experience working with security monitoring tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, etc.
- Professional experience working with vulnerability management tools.
- A detailed understanding of firewalls, VPNS, encryption technologies, and other security protocols.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HITECH, and NIST frameworks.
- Proficiency in monitoring Security-related metrics and dashboards while engaging with stakeholders to identify key areas of vulnerability related to technical debt, hardware/software provisioning, etc.
Nice-to-Haves:
Certifications such as:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP)
- Experience using Rapid7, Deep Instinct, and/or CyberArk.
- Professional experience as a Security Analyst or Engineer in the Healthcare industry.
