Job Description
We are seeking a BI Manager for direct hire near Houston, TX. Please see below for more details and apply if you feel this role may be a fit for you, or a friend/family member!
Location: Onsite 5 days per week near Houston, TX.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Data Engineers (focused on ETL/ELT pipeline development) and BI Engineers (focused on data modeling, integration, and visualization).
- Oversee the full data lifecycle from ingestion through transformation to visualization, across 20–30 diverse data sources.
- Drive development and maintenance of robust data pipelines integrating internal systems such as Oracle DBMS, IBM DB2, Oracle Cloud Services, Oracle Financials, and various third-party SaaS platforms.
- Collaborate closely with HR, Sales, Marketing, and various other teams to deliver unified, actionable insights.
- Manage data integrations from sources including customer data platforms, credit card transactions, fraud detection systems, and Size Optimizer tools.
- Ensure adherence to SOX compliance and audit requirements in data processing and reporting.
Must Haves:
- Proven experience managing Data teams, particularly in data engineering and BI functions.
- Deep expertise with enterprise data warehouses, data modeling, and end-to-end data pipeline architecture.
- Hands-on experience with tools like Google BigQuery, Kafka, Datastage, and MicroStrategy.
- Strong understanding of data compliance and governance practices, including SOX and related audit processes.
- Experience integrating data from complex ecosystems including financial systems, marketing platforms, and SaaS/cloud environments.
- Subject-matter expertise and background working in Retail environments at-scale.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, especially in cross-functional settings.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Professional experience building ETL pipelines and creating data visualizations to reinforce actionable insights for the business.
