AI Engineer

Katy, TX 77449

Industry: PM/Scrum/Program/Portfolio Manager Job Number: 1778

Job Description

We’re seeking an AI Engineer to design, train, and deploy machine learning and deep learning models that power data-driven decisions across retail operations. You’ll work within a growing AI and analytics team that’s building the foundation of enterprise-scale AI—helping transform the way products are stocked, customers are served, and insights are delivered across stores and digital channels.

This is a hands-on, technical role for an engineer who enjoys building end-to-end solutions—from feature engineering to model deployment—and wants to apply cutting-edge AI to real-world retail challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning and deep learning models that support retail forecasting, personalization, and automation initiatives.

  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, data engineers, and BI teams to deliver scalable AI solutions across supply chain, marketing, and customer analytics.

  • Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation to ensure performance and reliability.

  • Integrate AI models into enterprise systems and cloud environments using modern deployment frameworks.

  • Monitor model performance, implement retraining processes, and optimize accuracy over time.

  • Document model architectures, training procedures, and evaluation metrics for reproducibility and governance.

  • Stay current with advances in Generative AI, agentic frameworks, and RAG (retrieval-augmented generation)—and apply emerging techniques where applicable.

  • Support responsible AI and data privacy practices throughout the model lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience building, training, and deploying ML/DL models using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.

  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with Jupyter, SQL, and data wrangling libraries (Pandas, NumPy, etc.).

  • Hands-on experience with cloud AI platforms (Google Vertex AI, Azure ML, or AWS SageMaker).

  • Solid understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model optimization.

  • Experience working with MLOps practices—versioning, monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.

  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and collaboration skills.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience applying AI to retail, e-commerce, or supply chain use cases (e.g., demand forecasting, product recommendations, customer insights).

  • Exposure to Generative AI, RAG pipelines, and large language model (LLM) development.

  • Familiarity with modern data architectures (data lake, data warehouse, ETL pipelines).

  • Understanding of responsible AI, fairness, and compliance principles.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
